Today is January 1st, 2026.  A couple of years ago I started reading my Bible daily with The Bible Recap.  It’s free!  I have often struggled with being disciplined in reading my Bible, and this tool is super helpful.  Subscribe to the website and you will get an email every day with the chapters you are supposed to read.  Pray for God’s guidance and that he will help you learn more about Him.  Read the chapters and listen to the video summarizing the chapters. The link is https://www.thebiblerecap.com/. 2025 was a difficult year and because of that I got out of the routine for just a couple of months, but I started back again at the beginning of December and finished strong.  My resolution is to stay consistent this year.

I want to start working out again.  It’s been a rough time of loss and I haven’t worked out in a year. We should all work out physically every day, even if it’s just a little.   If you don’t join a gym, I recommend using https://fitonapp.com/ It’s also free! It has three levels of workouts and a large video library so you can pick and save your favorites. In the past I have done a cardio workout video and a stretching workout. The website also makes daily video suggestions which is fun for variety.

A few months ago I went to a chiropractor and he told me I was developing arthritis in my hips.  I researched “arthritis diet” and found a video on Youtube recommending the Keto Diet for three months.  Keto is not new to me, so I was open to it and started the diet but was only able to do it for a month and a half (a lot going on this year).  I would like to try it for the full three months that he recommended, and then have x-rays done again to see if it worked.   Here is the link to that YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpZHKGGCK-o. My resolution is to do the Keto diet for all three months.

I am interested in the 1000 Hours Outside challenge for myself.   The movement was started by a mom to encourage children to stop gaming and play outside. It can definitely be applied to adults as well.   I have started my own tracking system in Excel. Here is the link to the website if you would like more information: https://www.1000hoursoutside.com/.   She also has other “1000” challenges. Since I also like to read, I am going to try tracking all the books that I read.

Most daringly, the big goal this year is to take risks and get my wellness business up and running.  I like nothing more to talk about food and how we can improve our health as a nation, by eating the foods God created.  I would like to be counseling and teaching in various ways.  I pray that God will lead me and direct me to the right avenues on how I can make this happen.  This website is part of that.   I pray for strength and that I would be bold and daring.  I pray that I will get out of the boat and walk on the water!

This is a new year to make the most of. The Lord is good. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

Please share your own resolutions.

  1. Thanks Stephanie for the ideas and website recommendations. I am trying to take one diet step at a time, and this year the first step I hope to make is to exclude cured meats from my diet as much as it depends on me. Since that is what I had for lunch almost all the time, it means that I am having to try some new things. Continuing the sauerkraut that you suggested which has been helpful for my digestion, and I discovered, I really like it.
